About 2% of Taiwanese teenagers admit to two-timing their boyfriend or girlfriend, according to a recent survey of 50,000 teens conducted by the Taipei City Department of Health. The government body polled youth between the ages of 10 and 18.
The results found that 2% of teens are “players” who are or have dated two or more people at the same time. Thirty-two percent of the respondents said they have been in a relationship, while 17% said they are currently seeing someone.
But while teens are active daters, more than 40% of parents said they had no idea about their children’s love life.
Experts advised parents to remain open-minded about their children dating, while setting ground rules and limits.
